What is Shinrin Yoku

Shinrin-yoku is a very simple activity. It consists of 3 parts once you have found a spot in nature to enjoy.
1) disconnect from your daily routine;
2) deep breathing and nature connection through a series of quiet activities; and
3) transitioning back to your daily life.

Why was the blend developed?

dōTERRA Shinrin-Yoku™ Forest Bathing Blend 15mL was developed with the aim of recreating the atmosphere of the forest so that people living in cities can easily experience forest bathing in their daily lives.

We have created a unique blend formulation based on evidence, while referring to the aroma components and composition rations of phytoncides, which are attracting attention in forest bathing research.

Researchers have confirmed many of the healing benefits of forest bathing are due to the presence of these phytocides that are released by the plants in the forest. It has also been found that inhaling essential oils from trees and plants can elicit many of the same benefits as the actual practice of forest bathing.

This is because the chemicals produced by the trees are found in the air. These chemicals mainly consist of Limonene, alpha pinene, beta pinene, and linalool. These may sound very familiar to those of us that know and love essential oils.

Why have these oils been included?

These essential oils have been blended in a unique, evidence-based ratio to not only resonate with your five senses, but to help you feel the peace and tranquillity of being deep in the forest.

This blend of essential oils contains the same chemical constituents, (called phytoncides), that we find in the air of the forest. Hinoki and the fir oils contain alpha and beta pinene. Lemon and Pink Grapefruit essential oil bring the benefit of limonene. The Magnolia, Cardamom and Petitgrain contain linalool. And Patchouli rounds off the oil by creating that grounding scent that gives the blend a strong foundation.
