Natural Sleep Balm

1. Bergamot Mint Essential Oil: Bergamot Mint is a unique blend that combines the calming properties of mint with the uplifting citrus notes of bergamot. Ingredients:

  • 4 teaspoons beeswax pellets

  • 7 tablespoons Fractionated Coconut Oil

  • 7 drops Wild Orange essential oil



Instructions:

  1. Prepare Your Double Boiler: You will need two pots, with one being smaller that can fit inside the other. Add 2 cups of water to the larger pot and place the smaller pot inside. Ensure the smaller pot does not touch the bottom of the larger one. Bring the water to a delicate boil.

  2. Melt the Beeswax: Add the beeswax pellets to the smaller pot and allow them to melt completely. Beeswax provides a protective barrier on the skin and helps solidify the balm.

  3. Add Shea Butter: Once the beeswax is melted, add the shea butter. Allow it to melt and then remove the pot from the heat. Shea butter is rich in vitamins and fatty acids, providing deep moisturising benefits.

  4. Incorporate Coconut Oil and Essential Oils: Add the fractionated coconut oil and stir to combine. Fractionated coconut oil is a lightweight carrier oil that hydrates without leaving a greasy residue. Then, add the Bergamot Mint, Vetiver, and Wild Orange essential oils. Mix thoroughly to ensure the oils are evenly distributed.

  5. Pour the Mixture: Carefully pour the mixture into a glass container, mason jar, or a small tin with a lid. Let it cool down completely. As it cools, it will transform into a solid cream.

  6. Storage: Store your DIY balm at room temperature. It will remain fresh and effective for up to 1.5 years.
